Additional Info

Ntandazo Vuyile Mtshengu, stage name CranX was born in a small town called Kokstad in Kwazulu-Natal South Africa in 1995, but his parents moved to Matatiele in the Eastern Cape in 1997.

He is a multi talented electro House producer, pianist, vocalist and Dj. He studied jazz at Wits University for a year and 5 months before dropping out to study sound engineering at Emendy Radio.

He was only 3 years old when he started playing the piano. His father taught him a basic melody of the South African National Anthem and he caught on quite quickly. In just a few months, he could follow the melody of almost any song that he heard.

He started his primary school life at St Monica’s in Matatiele. In 2006 he went to King Edward High School, where his music passion grew stronger and he started producing and writing his own songs since, which were mostly Hip Hop and RnB at the time. In 2010 he went to Durban High School and while he was there, he got involved in quite a few concerts and productions.

He heard Electro Music for the first time in 2013, when a friend of his played him a song called Language by Porter Robinson.

He fell in love with the genre and has come up with his own sound called Afro Electro, which is a blend of electro house and South African house. His music has since played in countries like the USA, Australia, Austria, England, France and on many local South African radio stations.
